James "Jim" Larkin Beach 1929 - 2010
Jim Beach was born July 27, 1929 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co. Ar. to
Romulus Horatio & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Florence Thames Beach.
June 8, 1952 he married Wanda Lou Cason in Tulsa, Tulsa Co., Oklahoma.

Stigler Cemetery at Stigler, Haskell Co., Oklahoma.

James (Jim) Larkin Beach of Tulsa went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the age of 80. He was born July 27th, 1929
in Greenwood, AR to R.H. and Elizabeth Beach. Upon Graduation (1947) from high school, he served in the United States Army at 17
years old and rose to the rank of Corporal. Once discharged, he was then recalled into the Army during the Korean conflict and
was stationed at Fort Chaffee Arkansas.
Jim graduated from the University of Arkansas and was a lifelong "Hog" fan. James Beach and Wanda Lou Cason were married in 1952.
Jim began his career with Sun Refining and Marketing (DX Mid-Continent) and later became President and Owner of Beach Oil Company
in Stigler, OK. He left the Oil business in 1985 and purchased a specialty advertising firm in Tulsa. His last career came as an
employee of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority as Principle Assistant to the Director. After serving as a volunteer on the Turnpike
Authority Board for many years, he particularly enjoyed his employment career with the OTA. After nearly a decade with the OTA,
Jim retired to Tulsa/Bixby to be closer to family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents R.H and Elizabeth, brothers Vincent Beach; Vernon Beach; Damon Beach; Sister Betty Jo
Moore; Nephew Vernon Beach Jr. Jim is survived by his wife Wanda, Sister-Laws Virginia Beach of Boulder CO; Hautene Beach of
Greenwood, AR; son James (Jamie) L. Beach Jr. and daughter-in-law Claire of McKinney TX; Jeff Beach and daughter-in-law Billye
of Bixby, OK; Daughter Jennifer Beach-York and son-in-law Wayne York; 3 grandchildren, Rachael and Sarah Beach of McKinney TX;
Sonya Beach of Bixby, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a Public Servant, Jim Beach has been active in many civic and fraternal organizations. Member of the Bedouin Shrine Temple of
Muskogee, Masonic Lodge #121 and Royal Order of Jesters Court 99. He was elected Mayor of Stigler and served as a member of the
Oklahoma Turnpike Authority during the terms of Governors Hall, Boren, and Nigh. He is past president of the Oklahoma Petroleum
Marketers Association. During his tenure as Stigler Mayor he was instrumental in bringing Stigler the current Civic Center, Pool,
and Country Club. As a retiree Jim was past president of the East Tulsa Kiwanis Club and active in the Elks Lodge.
Funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, Stigler with Rev. Jim Bob Kirk officiating.
Burial will be at Stigler City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bedouin Shrine Temple Transportation Fund.
Pallbearers include; Keith Edmunds, Sam Rose, Mike Rose, David Rose, Mike McAdoo, Kevin Hendrix, Dave Maloy, Lonnie Davis, Doug
Martin, Bill Cox, Jim Hall, Duke Morrison, Jim Love, Chick Kelley, Charlie Owen, and David Owen.
